The city of St. Louis is governed by the combination of a mayor and council, with the mayor having the primary executive authority. Downtown St. Louis is home to the main post office operated by the United Stated Postal Service. A regional bank in St. Louis is also maintained by the Federal Reserve. The city also plays home to National Geospatial-intelligence Agency which has major operations in this area.
