Richmond Schools

The city of Richmond has about 28 elementary schools, 9 middle schools and 8 high schools. There is a healthy mix of private and public schools in the city and almost 25,000 children attend these schools annually.

Centers of higher learning in the city include Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond, Virginia Union University, Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education and the Baptist Theological Seminary. Community colleges like J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and John Tyler Community College are also located here.

Technical colleges include ITT Technical Institute, ECPI College of Technology and Beta Tech. The vocational colleges in the city are Fortis College and Bryant Stratton College. Richmond is also home to the best advertising program in the nation at VCU's graduate advertising school, which helps increase the number of great advertising minds each year.
