Jacksonville Demographics and Statistics

Jacksonville is the most populous city in the state of Florida and also ranks at number thirteen on the list of most populous cities in United States. According to the 2010 United Census, the city has an approximate population of around 821,784 people, a 11.7 percent increase from the population in 2000.

The city is among the few cities in United States that has a large community with foreigners as their great ancestors. This gives the city an interesting combination and mixture of culture and races. The city has always been welcoming to inhabitants from around the world. The largest ancestors of Jacksonville are made of Germans with 9.6 percent, the Americans come second at 9.3 percent, the Irish with 9 percent, the English at 8.5 percent and Italians at 3.5 percent. The city also has the tenth highest Arab population and one of the largest Filipino populations in Untied States. Other major foreign inhabitants of Jacksonville include Serbo-Croatian, Russian and Puerto Rican.
