Raleigh Government Agencies
The Raleigh City Council is the legislative wing of the government. It consists of eight members headed by the Mayor and looks after the well-being of the city. The social, economic, political, judicial aspects of the city are looked after by the various government agencies. The City Council looks after the City policy, enacts laws and also passes the annual City budget.
There are committees like the Budget and Economic Development Committee, Public Works Committee, Law and Public Safety Committee and the Comprehensive Planning Committee who are assigned with the well-being of their respective segment of the city.
