Washington D.C. has a wide range of architectural styles. Downtown, 6 basic styles were used, including neoclassical, Georgian, gothic and modern. Outside of the city center, the styles vary vastly and include Queen Anne, Victorian, and Romanesque, among others. Since the current Washington D.C. was originally named Georgetown, an area of rowhouses are among the oldest architecture.
