Washington Events

Washington, D.C. has a wide range of community events year-round. There are events like  the National Cherry Blossom Festival to welcome Spring; the White House Easter Egg Roll; Memorial Day ceremonies; The National Book Festival, which celebrates the joy of reading; and the Smithsonian's Folklife Festival, which celebrates cultural traditions from around the world. Independence Day celebrations include a morning parade, concerts and a spectacular fireworks display. Winter activities include the lighting of the National Christmas Tree and the Pageant of Peace, with decorated trees representing the each state in the country.
