Sacramento Demographics and Statistics

Sacramento is a unique city considering the fact that Whites and African Americans constitute about 64% of the population. The remaining 36% are part of other races, which is a very high figure for a capital city of a State as large as California. This indicates the level of diversity in the city. The city has a healthy percentage of Asian citizens as well.

The median age also indicates that Sacramento is a young city. Its impact on the median and annual income is high because of the relatively low unemployment in the city. Women outnumber men and married couples outnumber single persons in a significant manner. The relatively low divorce numbers indicate the presence of a large number of happy families in the State.
