Sunset at Lorain Lighthouse near Cleveland Ohio

It's the 143rd day of the year, which means it is the 143rd chance this year to see this just steps from my house.

On that note, Sunday was five years to the day of my coming to Lorain. I walked across the stage at John Carroll University on Sunday, May 20, 2001, and received what looked like a diploma but really wasn't, and Monday, May 21, 2001, I reported at 3 p.m. sharp for my first day on the job at The Morning Journal.

I've moved on from The Journal, but not from Lorain. My new house is built where Lorain's historic shipyards once were. I run the city's streets, sidewalks and parks every day (OK, not quite every day). And I love an opportunity to see a sight like this.

So to everyone who asks me "You work in Cleveland, why would you want to live in Lorain?" This is my answer. But it is only the beginning. - Ronnie
